Philodendron Collection

Philodendron is a large neotropical genus of flowering plants in the family Araceae, with over 900 species.
Regardless of their popularity as ornamental and indoor plants, there are still many undescribed.
Their leaves are usually very large 1-2 m, and their subterranean roots can reach 18 m in length.
Wild species of philodendron are at risk of extinction due to the accelerated destruction of tropical rainforests.
In Greek "philo" means "love" and "dendron" means "tree" - the name refers to the lifestyle of these plants.
