This delicate Anthurium is found in shady areas of the rain forest in Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil and Colombia.
He actually appear to be more like a palm than an Anthurium due to what is known botanically as "palmatisect" leaves, not every leaf of every specimen will always appear the same. Anthurium polyschistum bears a resemblance to Cannabis - it is not and no attempt should be made to smoke any parts of this plant.
Anthurium polyschistum grows as a terrestrial, an appressed epiphytic climber growing close to the host as well as a hemiepiphytic aroid. It's unusual in collections and grows from the ground up the sides of trees or it's seeds may be deposited by a bird on the tree and grow down toward the ground where it then deposits roots.
Give him a tall climbing totem, in filtered light and soil that is very fast draining mixed with orchid potting media, perlite and peat moss.
The plant is 30-35 cm tall and will be shipped in a 12 cm pot.
