This species loves to be kept cool! Very cool!
Anthurium rugulosum is listed as a "red-lined" species. That is one step before becoming officially an endangered species, primarily due to habitat destruction, the only known threat to it's survival other than heat.
The exquisite plant is an inhabitant of the high cloud forest where it is almost always damp.
Anthurium rugulosum might be difficult to grow due to where it is found - in Ecuador's high, cool, often wet rain forests. Those growing conditions are quite different than the average hot greenhouse!
Very few botanical institutions have a specimen on display.
This plant is almost 50 cm tall and will be shipped in a 12 cm pot.
