RESTOCK - TUESDAY, 20 July at 20:00 CET!
They say that sky's the limit. Well, that's definitely true for the Philodendron Panduriforme, native to the Northern and Western areas of the Amazon basin. With the upper lobes curving outwards and downwards, the species is known to botany as a scandent (climbing) vine.
But the coolest thing about this climbing philodendron has to be the unique shape of its leaves: its leathery leaf blades almost look as though they were cut with scissors. This led to its other nicknames, like "Fiddlehead" or "Horsehead" philodendron.
Growers typically assume all plants grow in soil, but in the rainforest that is far from true. This amazing specimen belongs to the Hemiepiphytic species, which comprises plants that grow upon other plants but may begin life as a seed placed on a tree's branch by a bird or grow upwards from the soil, climbing a tree if the seed has been dropped on the ground.
Philodendron Panduriforme is at home in average to warm temperatures all year-round and medium to bright diffused light. You may have to adjust the location of philodendrons to find the perfect light conditions but rest assured- it's worth making this tiny effort for such a special life-long friend.
The plant will be shipped in a 9 cm reusable pot.
