Philodendron Squamicaule

It's hard to take your eyes off this dramatic looking Philodendron.
With her sharp red and furry petioles and stem she is a true show stopper.
On top of it all her leafs are very shiny.

Philodendron squamicaule ranges from Costa Rica to Esmeralday Province in Ecuador, he is probably related to P. verrucosum, which also has densely scaly petioles and is apparently closest to P. Serpens.

Requires more humidity, plenty of light and proper fertilization.

Lightening the plants will accelerate their growth and improve their coloration.

The plant is 35 cm tall and will be shipped in a 12 cm pot.
